Description
Stachys palustris, commonly known as Marsh Woundwort, is a tall and attractive native marginal plant, perfect for adding height and natural colour to pond edges. It produces spikes of soft purple-pink flowers throughout summer, which stand proudly above its lush green foliage.
This vigorous plant thrives in damp soils and shallow water, making it ideal for wildlife ponds, natural planting schemes, and larger pond margins. Its upright growth habit provides excellent vertical interest, while also offering valuable habitat and nectar for pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
Stachys palustris spreads gradually to form dense clumps, helping to soften pond edges and create a more natural transition between water and surrounding landscape.
