Description
The Tamasaba Goldfish is a rare and relatively new variety of Japanese Goldfish. There are several rumours regarding the parentage of this species, but they are similar in appearance to a Ryukin goldfish, but with a single tail.
Originating in Niigaata, Japan, the birthplace of the Koi, Tamasaba are bred by Japanese Koi breeders. They use their expertise and knowledge of producing the best Koi in the world at a smaller scale, to breed these incredible goldfish.
They are hardy fish and are bred to survive winters in outdoor ponds, even in colder countries like the UK. These disease-hardy fish are confident feeders and are eager to feed even amongst the largest of Koi. These are going to be very popular!lar!
Tamasaba are bred in short and long fin variations and it seems the short fin are preferred. This beautiful fish from NND is short tail.
